Gym floor recoating.
Screen and recoat: the annual maintenance that keeps your floor safe and protected.
What a recoat does
A screen and recoat removes the worn surface of the top finish coat and puts fresh finish down. It doesn’t sand into the wood, so it takes less time and costs far less than a full refinish.
Most hardwood sports floors need a recoat once a year. Floors used every day may need it twice.
Traction is the safety reason. As finish wears, the surface gets slippery. A fresh coat restores grip.
Regular recoats also protect the wood, which stretches the time until a full sand and refinish is needed.
Just Like New Maintenance Program.
For busy floors, book recoats on a schedule instead of one at a time.

What you get
Costs far less than a refinish
A recoat renews only the top coat, so it’s faster and cheaper than sanding to bare wood.
Restores traction
Fresh finish gives athletes proper grip and cuts the risk of slips.
Protects the wood
A sound finish keeps moisture and wear out of the boards, so the floor lasts longer between refinishes.
How a recoat works
Evaluate
We check the floor’s condition and confirm the new finish is compatible with what’s on the floor now.
Clean and screen
We deep-clean the floor, then lightly screen (abrade) the top coat so the new finish bonds. We don’t sand into the wood.
Recoat
Fresh coats of finish go down and cure before the floor goes back into use.
