How often should a hardwood gym floor be recoated?
Most hardwood sports floors need a screen and recoat once a year. Floors used every day may need it twice. Regular recoats restore traction and protect the wood, which stretches the time until a full refinish is needed.
How often does a gym floor need a full refinish?
Typically every 8 to 10 years, depending on how heavily the floor is used. A refinish sands the floor to bare wood and puts down new seal, game lines and finish.
What’s the difference between a recoat and a refinish?
A recoat lightly screens the top coat and adds fresh finish; it doesn’t sand into the wood. A refinish sands down to bare wood and removes the old finish and lines. If the finish is worn through to the wood, or you want new lines or a new logo, you need a refinish. See the side-by-side →
Can you repair a damaged section instead of replacing the floor?
Often, yes. After a flood, leak or impact we can remove the damaged section, match the subfloor and the wood, and sand and finish the repair to blend with the rest of the floor.
What do you need for a custom logo?
A vector file of your logo. We turn it into a vinyl stencil, and your team approves the shape and colours before any paint goes down.
